“Rockefeller, hm?” Lorene looks at the girl curiously. That was a rather interesting piece of information. She wasn’t very well-versed in gossip or the lives of the wealthy, but the name was immediately recognizable.
“A-anyway, what do you guys think? My friend has some pretty good tea!”
The two girls are silent, lost in two different trains of thought. Lorene speaks first. “…I think I should probably get going. I have something I need to handle. This was… not exactly fun, but an interesting time. Thanks for the fries. See ya.” The girl begins walking off.
“O-oh.” Samantha glances at Clover, but seeing that the wolf-girl isn’t responding, heads toward the car alone, a little crestfallen.
Clover is still concerned, trying to piece together what happened yesterday with what she learned today, but when she notices that she’s about to be left behind by everyone, the wolf-girl starts to panic. “w-WAIT!”
Both Samantha and Lorene stop.
Clover hurriedly pulls out her phone. “P-pack leader’s orders, let’s all exchange numbers haha!”
Yeah, Lorene still hadn’t put on the ears (and was probably never going to), and she just found out Samantha could be involved with those fishy guys from yesterday, but… b-but she’d finally gotten pack-mates. For the first time, ever. Even if it was maybe dangerous, even if it was maybe stupid, now that she’d finally found such happiness, she couldn’t bear to simply let it go.
“…Alright, that could be a good idea.” Lorene looks back for a brief moment. “My number’s [redacted]. Text me if you need me.” The girl leaves.
Clover punches the number into her contacts with her keypad, thumbs shaking. “H-how about you, Sam-Sam?!”
“Of course!!” Samantha rushes back over. “Eehhh, your phone has actual buttons?!”
When all is said and done, Clover looks down at her phone screen, trembling in her hands. In her contacts list… she finally had numbers other than her big bro’s!!
