well its no great mystery, atleast among pagans, that plato was what both inspired and broke jews. but the polytheistic/monotheistic distinction is a jewish invention. greeks were both. polytheism was just a way of describing parts of the whole, but it became overly complicated, and literally drove the gnostics insane. they exploited the increasing bureaucracy and commoditization and peoples frustration with having to have to travel across town to go to like five different temples to pray to five different gods just to pray for their sick child. the elites simply lost the plot, and jews offered them a solution by consolidating all their interests behind one single institution.

its not that people dont believe in god, they just dont believe the jewish desert fanfictional account is god or has anything to do with god. its a mockery to what god. its well understood that jews broke their brains with plato. they thought themselves so wise and so smart and he was so far out ahead of them that they simply could not make sense of what pagans were doing. there was no monotheist vs. polytheist war, that was a wholly jewish invention. the greeks were both. they used metaphors and polytheism to describe parts of the whole. this is covered in depth in the second part of Plato's Parmenides when Zeno debates Aristoteles.
