I see where you're coming from Anon, and I don't want to dissuade you. I really like the intent of what you're trying to say here, and it could almost work, but having your main point be "You guys are too incompetent to lead us" in non-accusatory prose, I think, would not go well.

We're an investment. We have to very carefully angle ourselves-in no way shape or form do I believe we'll be able to divorce ourselves from a higher UNSC better. Ever. Not now. Not when we've just begun, not when the most dangerous foe humanity has ever faced has made itself apparent. They're not going to trust their greatest weapon to properly utilize itself, EVEN IF WE COULD. I don't think this victory has won us that much pull. We exist at the mercy of people we'll never know. Even these guys coming in are likely to have people above them-I doubt the Lord Admiral will be coming all the way out here.
