Your Druchi examples are common/typical, but Hellebron is my favourite so I play as her anyway, but you're 'better off' confed'ing her instead. I prefer playing as Franz or Elspeth (and keep the other alive, not confed' them) but confed' the others if I can like Gelt, Markus (get a hero to him ASAP he usually dies quickly), and Volkmar (hit and miss, sometimes he does very well). Greenskins I'm very flexible with, sometimes I'll just kill them outright and not accept them. My Grimgor campaign yesterday I took Skarsnik, allied with Azhag, and ignored the rest (Wurrzag and Gorbad got killed off).
