Yes, yes you would have. Because those practices were only stopped after a few smart and brave souls noticed they were fucking patients over and tried to do something about it. Everyone else was doing it as standard practice for years, decades. The 'professionalism' that you have today is only the result of a slow and steady climb in knowledge, improved practice and building upon the work of others brave enough to stand up against what isn't working. We're not at the top of the mountain yet, probably not even halfway there, there is so much more to learn and many things happening today that will be considered barbaric as fuck in another hundred years time.
