While the list is still being divided into two categories by gender (since the award was created at the time when Japan was not yet infected with gender shit crap), they just threw in it whatever the woke reviewers thinks is “good” without regarding genders of the writers, genders of the genres (shonen/shoujo), or even the preferences of the readers based on genders. Plus includes some manga that reek of feminism, great. There is literally no need to have two categories, オトコ編 and オンナ編.

I know they have been criticized by some woke for dividing the award by gender in this way, but rather than doing such a meaningless and somewhat performative attempt ― literally they seem to want to declare that gender is irrelevant to the excellence of a manga by daring to leave the category itself ― they just should get rid of the category itself. I guess the average man would not be interested in most of the manga in the male section though.
