That’s one thing I can’t wrap my head around, how Assad fell so quickly and out of the blue. I have to think that the external interveners in the Syrian Civil War got together somehow and made a deal, because Jolani got into power and put on his Zelensky costume, and then Israel got to destroy much of Assad’s armaments, but at the same time, Russia is still in its naval base at Tartus although nobody’s talking about it in the news. I don’t think the reason was as simple as Russia and Iran just being strategically unable to carry on. Can someone itt give me a QRD of why Russia and Iran might have been okay with the fall of Assad? What kind of deal might have been reached, and who would benefit from what terms?
