/xivg/ is actually a perfect social group if you're someone who wants to be lowkey and low commitment. It's easy to reach a level of saturation where people recognize you and know you're not a rando but also where people won't miss you if you're feeling anti-social or want to go somewhere else for awhile. More normie groups demand a much higher level of engagement, and if you disappear for awhile and come back you get "where have you been! you should hang out more". Here you don't get that. You also have to be pretty engaged to actually get invited to things in other groups, where here, it's perfectly normal and expected that if you want to be a part of something you have to invite yourself.
