Most of the people have their investments in US company stocks, exclusively watch US shows and movies, buy US SW and HW.
Outside of a few projects like Irish Cartoon Saloon productions or French Arcane, we're just a farm for American corporates. There's just no money to shoot decent local cinema (short of genius ideas that can be done very cheaply) or animation (everything of worth has to get 50% of its funding covered by EU grants).
Anything big (GTA, Minecraft, ARM, Spotify,...) just gets bought by the US and decomposed in the belly of US corporates and their directives.
