Peskov: Relations between Moscow and Baku have entered a difficult period, and the Kremlin hopes it will pass.

"It is very important for us that Russians are respected in Azerbaijan," he said.

Peskov also commented on Baku's plans to file a lawsuit against Russia at the International Court over the AZAL plane crash.

"Investigations are ongoing, and proceedings are underway. If Azerbaijan chooses to take such a step, that is within its rights. We will await the official outcomes of all ongoing investigations and proceedings," he said.
