It's a 3D action adventure game. You collect various powers from voodoo markings to weapons to allow you to access new areas and collect dark souls. Dark souls allow you to break down the barriers the previous Shadowman has implemented. Voodoo markings allow you to touch flame surfaces, to being able to walk on coal, and even eventually swimming in lava. The weapons act a little like keys. The baton allows you to utilize teleport alters, the jaw let's you hit drums to open places up, the flambeu allows you to burn down canvases, and it can double as a torch. The game is very exploration focused, but to obtain voodoo markings you have to essentially go through an obstacle course so it is more timing and platforming heavy.

Is the game perfect? No, but it's still a great game to play.
