I think your opinion will depend on how you like your Superguy. My low opinion of MAWS mostly refers to a terrible Lois being the protagonist along with shitty writing and horrible character designs. There was potential there, and for all its flaws I think Supes himself wasn't too bad. Too "cute", as could be expected considering who made it but not horrible.
Gunn's Clark was a total delight to watch through and through, in my book. Dude is something of a dork, and more than one character takes umbrage with his naive optimism and ideals. But at the end of the day, it's what makes him a fucking kickass guy and other people can't help but be infected by his kindness. He kicks loads of ass in the movie, but all the biggest conflicts and hurdles are overcome because he's just a cool guy that people can't help but like. Also Krypto is a total shit. The absolute worst kind of good dog I've seen a million times, and I love it.
