Dude's figuring out how to not mill artifacts. There's a few other considerations too. Do I rush gundam, or can I crank out a few betas and keep copying them? Is it worth dropping a few ward artifacts, or is that going to set me too far back later? SONIC BOOM NOW OR LATER?!
There's a shit ton of options for the deck. It's fun, but it's also stupidly fucking broken. Everything else you have to kinda play with what you get. Artifact can just consistently have an answer to anything.
