Fun fact: German businesses were ALLOWED to give bribes outside of Germany, but weren´t allowed to give bribes IN Germany, or receive bribes. This was actual law.
It´s how my city ended up with a Selgros and a Metro, second supermarket I ever walked into as a child was a Metro in the 90s. First was a Romanian one, the Romanian one ended up getting bankrupt (no money for bribes, no capital from banks.)
