Princess Haya bint Al Hussein is the daughter of the late Jordanian King Hussein bin Talal and his third wife, Queen Alia. She married the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in 2004. She was thus connected by marriage to the ruling royal family of the Emiate of Dubai, House of Maktoum. However, after conceiving two children, they later divorced.
Princess Haya bint Al Hussein was a two-term President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. She was also the first Arab and first woman to become Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme. She later chaired Dubai's International Humanitarian City, an NGO focused on “humanitarian emergency preparedness”. She was a founding member former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan's Global Humanitarian Forum based in Geneva. She attended the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in 2015.
As shown in my previous threads, Jordan’s royal family, the Hashemites, are well represented within the Roundtable Groups. Queen Rania Al Abdullah is a member of the World Economic Forum’s board of trustees.
