I think most of it is probably just fetishization of "taboo" aesthetics.
I think a few of the more pragmatically minded have realized that western "right wingers", even the hardcore race realist nazi's, are far more tolerant of faggotry than any islamic state will ever be. The writing is on the wall in that regard (vote left-wing = muslim caliphate within 50 years), and they're simply reorienting towards their primary incentive (aka survival).

I think the only way you can save somebody like that is by physically hanging out with them, e.g. going to movies, hiking, or some other hobby. "Touch grass!" is a meme, but its also kinda true, literally just taking a hike or a walk in sunlight helps to ground you from your worst delusions for some reason, I think its in large part just chemical/physiological reaction.
I also think alot of people's "grooming aptitude" also simply boils down to how they were taught to approach the internet by their parents. For example I had such an "Internet=STRANGERDANGER" paranoia instilled in myself as a kid by my mother that I literally have no social media accounts, the only discord servers I have are those with people I literally know IRL, and have impulsively rejected every single friend request I've recieved from people online (on steam, for example). Its impossible to groom me because I instinctively utterly distrust anybody online.
