They probably just did this cause it looks cool, but I actually wonder if maybe it's more accurate than they think.

When we damage the Knight, it starts to fizzle. And it's body in general seems to shapeshift freely. Like it's literally made of Shadow like the Shadowmen.
I almost wonder if "The Knight" is actually a projection of Dess, not her herself. Kind of actually like a Stand. Dess stays in the bunker but can send out this shadow self to do things in the Dark Worlds.

Would explain why she's so triggered by Susie's words in Chapter 4. She's really nothing without the Dark Fountain.
