>it's unironically off-topic these days
Yep. Jannies don't do shit about it either. They'll actually ban on-topic discussions, because the ebins either mass report or have the moderator associated in their friend group. I'm surprised /v/ been letting discussions go over there recently.

>most of the current playerbase hasn't been around that long
That's true. A lot of the people I discuss these issues with state they either joined in Shadowbringers or Endwalker. I occasionally get someone that's from Stormblood or earlier anymore, assuming if they haven't packed their bags and left.
>some of these things [example] were shared years agos, but people dismissed them as fake.
I was initially one of these people who bought into that lie, but I grew skeptical when they kept running with that lie over and over. There's no way you can blame it on "bad coding from 1.0" over and over. Even if you can't make it work anymore, why not rework the system? Free Companies, Chocobo Racing, etc. have been obsolete for half a decade or longer at this point.
>content creators
I knew of two content creators from OCE who were begging Square Enix to put servers there. They were community representatives for that region and by the time they implemented the servers--they already moved on from the game. They had job offers lined up that occupied their time and they barely had time to stream anymore. Let alone, socialize.
>Yoshi-P said the crunch ended.
>Yoshi P exhausted the good will with the players.
That man speaks so much horse shit. I need to see actual proof in front of me, because whatever blind faith players had in him--it's actually gone. Whoever tries to do the cultist shit these days on Twitter/Reddit gets dogpiled on, because I hated when it was the other way around. He deserves to get ridiculed and shat on.
