NTA, but I'm 32 and I remember some of the Bush era.
I'm obviously looking through childish nostalgia goggles, but it was probably peak western society. All of the races were getting along better than ever, and most people understood that the government wasn't on their side. I think 2012/especially 2016 is when things really started going off the rails.

Obama wasn't the worst president, but I think his era is when the divide and conquer was turned up to 11.
