I know they're not new, but most of the current playerbase hasn't been around that long, and /xivg/ probably has a shadowbab or later majority.
Some of these things, like housing being outsourced with the original code being lost, were shared years ago, but people dismissed them as fake. It also didn't help that Yoshida managed to gaslight players into blaming 1.0 even for things that couldn't possibly have anything to do with it.
When blufever and another former dev (picrel) leaked stuff, they mentioned the awful working conditions. The one in picrel almost took his own life multiple times, but then you had people like Mr. Happy, who only cared that the leaks "stole hype from fanfests and spoiled things" and gave blufever a lot of shit. Yoshi-P said the crunch ended with HW, and his word was sacred.
Thankfully, he's exhausted the goodwill he had with the players, and people are tired of the excuses. If 8.0 doesn't turn things around (it won't), there's no hope left for this game.
