The Room's "so bad it's good" rep is the epitome of millennial self-righteousness and naivete.
It has an easy, politically correct target (a white male who's been hurt by women? CRINGE!) that millennials could laugh at while still patting themselves on the back. It's no coincidence that the generation who laughed at The Room would be the same generation who would invent cancel culture.
It would also be the generation who would support fourth wave feminism because they thought a woman like Lisa was just a ridiculous caricature, who couldn't exist in real life.
22 years later, the ideology that mocks The Room has been thoroughly discredited. It's the most honest movie about relationships ever made and deserves your respect.
