Well, cheaper until the user gets pulled into gambling. Though in their case, it is a lot more focused on the aspect of profit, since that's the whole point of gacha. We know how easy it is to make money with free games, but you add an anime aesthetic on top of that? During an era of anime popularity boom greater than ever before?
This is a goldmine for companies to pull in not just all normalfags everywhere on the planet who are just looking for famous games on top of the store to pass some time, but also anime "fans" and all those who have a decent enough phone (which everyone has nowadays) but aren't willing to get into console/PC gaming due to time or money restrictions etc.
