Houstanon here.
>my city is the size of your country
>my city has a population comparable to entire countries like denmark and switzerland
>none of us have to live like sardines, a huge portion of us have huge, affordable houses with full lawns
I was in europe a few weeks ago visiting a friend in the army, your continent, or at least the countries I visited, has a lot of nice traditions and (older) architecture, but your people live like literal peasants compared to americans. This isn't a strength, or "rustic", it's perpetual mediocrity.
picrel is about 15 minutes outside downtown Houston, and is sandwiched in between stands of skyscrapers. We've got the room to fit a wonderful park basically right in the middle of town, and it's a great breath of fresh air even for those of us who decided to live in relatively urban areas (by American standards, anyways)
