unironically it's the same case for new and old media, i watched satam for the first time and it's basically your standard average grimdark/edgy show from the 90s with ecology themes.
on the other hand, nothing ever made by human beings is original, they just copy, paste, combine and modify until they get something new. Which only means the problem is not about originality, the problem is it's just fucking shit written and you're copying the wrong stuff, modifying them like shit, wrapping them together in the worst possible way.
And at the end of the day you created nothing, even if you look at successful media for reference, take for example mimic's death, there are a bazillion stories about spies with cool dynamics and they chose the absolute lamest.
