>A French tourist was allegedly raped in Rajasthan’s Udaipur after being lured to an apartment by a man she met at a party on Monday, police said.
>According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman had arrived in Udaipur from Delhi on June 22 and was staying at a hotel in the city’s Ambamata area. On Monday night, she attended a party at The Greek Farm Cafe and Restro near Tiger Hill, where she met the accused.
>During the gathering, the man allegedly approached her and said, “Let’s go out for a smoke and I will show you the beautiful sights around.” Police said he then took her away from the venue under that pretext.
>Despite the woman’s repeated requests to return to her hotel, the man instead took her to a rented flat. Her phone had no charge, leaving her unable to call for help.
>According to the FIR, once inside the flat, the accused asked her for a hug. When she refused, he allegedly raped her.
>The French woman later admitted herself to a private hospital, where the staff reported the assault to police. The survivor’s condition is stable and that she personally filed a complaint from the hospital.
