What do people hate about stereotypical (traditional) female characters?
They're useless and whiny

It's why people dislike Willie Scott from Indiana Jones
Even Kate Capshaw didn't like her
So what's the solution on writing characters who represent traditional femininity?
Just write one who ISN'T whiny or useless
They can have vulnerabilities, insecurities, fears, flaws, etc but aren't aggravating to the extent where you just want to zone out the second they open their mouths and aggravating to the length where any development comes too little too late.
