NI is two worlds. Most of it isn't really that different from the rest of Ireland. Loyalist areas feel like norf england in a way, but with a bit more political zeal.

Unionist politics is right wing, Irish Nationalism is left wing. However, Unionist politicians are extremely corrupt-even more so than the literal money launderers in Sinn Féin-so Loyalist areas are shitty and tend to stay that way, while Irish areas get all the money and development.

I don't think Irish gypsys (or "travellers") are hated nearly as much outside of Ireland. In Ireland they are indeed hated, by everyone. Multiple candidates for President of Ireland came out strong against them, openly calling for their removal, and it didn't really impact their performance.
