no, gold isnt that important, I farm attachments every day since I was able to for the purpose of getting goated base rolls, until then there is not point in minmaxing a attachment that you wont be gold calibrating, upgrade with chips one time so you know it wont be ass and then waitfag until you have a god roll you can min max before using yellow chips, if you have trouble with seeing how gold chips are the only bottleneck in this game I dont know what to tell you
