I remember at one time, early on before Trump won, when he was basically just starting to build up his online audience and teaching persuasion (this was when Twitter had Periscope, if anyone even remembers that), one of the questions he got was whether these methods worked because people are dumber now. And he sort of chuckled and said something about how our ancestors weren't stupid, it was hard to stay alive in the ancient days. So basically, yes. He was more honest back then, he hadn't yet built a following that he could direct yet.

In a way, it's much like the progression of MAGA itself. The 1st administration, for all the God Emperor memes, wasn't staffed or supported by sycophants. But now it is, because all the twists and turns and contortions have basically thrown off everyone with brains. You can talk about Trump winning the majority vote and how ever many millions, but basically no one is rushing to work with him except people from Florida who are part of the Jewish organizations down there. It's the same with Scott, everyone who was earnest in learning persuasion went off on their separate ways and the ones left are the lemmings who see him as a guru. That's also why his language is more severe these days, back then he wouldn't be lazy and pull the "I'm smarter than you" card so easily. He even tried to reason with that BLM guy if you remember. Now he just goes "Ur dumb lol" to anyone who disagrees with him.
