here's the brief qrd on ironic weebs newfriend;
an ironic weeb refers to someone who is apparently or nominally a fan of anime but who doesn't actually sincerely unabashedly like anime inherently or Japanese culture and the particularities of anime/manga/Japanese culture, they were drawn to some anime or other for reasons in spite of it being an anime from Japan such as that it happened to appeal to their western sensibilities (such as something like Cowboy Bebop) and they otherwise have problems with innate Japanese and otaku things. These are the kind of people who, while they may regularly watch the most popular shonen anime and even may keep up with some seasonal anime, they do not actually like most anime and find most anime tropes and conventions offputting and cannot bring themselves to like anime-isms sincerely. These are the kind of people who will talk about how they like anime like Mushoku Tensei but say 'I like the story but I hate the MC...' they will watch Konosuba and even have Megumin pfps but always make a point of saying they don't like her 'like that' and that they are not into that weird loli shit, they may even uoooh-post but do so in a 'haha isn't this absurd' way. They detest anime-isms like moe, incest themes and slice of life anime and have no in-depth knowledge of seiyuu, idols, visual novels or anything else. Their knowledge of visual novels starts and ends with Doki Doki Literature Club and Steins;Gate - and they like Steins;Gate when it's being a cool sci-fi thriller but would rather not have all the MCs be otaku making japanese image board references they don't get or it having all the weird maid and trap shit. They are people who never do their reps and if they ever did end up living in Japan would just end up congregating in the small close-knit community of gaijin like the rest of them such as the Trash Taste people.
In short, ironic weebs are people who can only enjoy animanga/Japanese culture ironically and desperately wish it wasn't so Japanese. They are still normalfags at heart, people who stumbled into the hobby by happenstance because it was some fairweather flavor of the month trend they hopped onto at some point likely because they saw their nerdier friends were into it.
Basically, if you relate to anything I just described you need to go back and are cancer.
