As for an "unjustified blockade". All we have to do is provoke China via a Taiwanese declaration of independence. Then we would be "justified" in attacking Chinese ships(America has already declared we would go to war with China if it invaded Taiwan). Then when China retaliates, we would retaliate against Chinese ships.
The only Chinese ships that are "safe" are submarines. And with the first island china, they cannot break out of the South China Sea.
Yes, we could be nuked or whatever, and China would retaliate with missiles. But Chinese would cease to have a fleet. Which is why China is putting so much money into Belt-and-Road.
