it's less about which option is 'true', after all, these are all just working models that will be deprecated in due time and only exist in our head-- they are not reality. It's more about which option is most useful for predicting future things and explaining past observations, and for that, the Big Bang model and/or ΛCDM model have seemingly been most useful for now.
It is known that these are incomplete descriptions, that's an uncontroversial statement to say in cosmology or even about Standard Model physics
