He never said that women find fatties attractive, he said they don't usually find gigantic beefcakes attractive. It's a slider the same way it is for men, there are people on both sides who find thin/fat/muscular people attractive, but for most people it averages out to simply being in shape.
A lot of it comes down to those of the same sex comparing against each other instead of what the opposite sex actually cares about.
