“Alexander Hail is cooking something up, and for some reason he didn’t want it on tonight’s agenda.” You figure it can’t hurt to flex on the extent of your influence with the militant rebels with the LT. But no point counting your chickfleas before they hatch. “I don’t have the details just yet, sir.”

“This plan of his." The LT doesn't quite purse his lips as he speaks. "It is at all likely to singlehandedly change the course of the war, decimate the Savis legions and break the orbital blockade?”

“…Probably not.”

To his credit the Lieutenant doesn’t give the impression that he had gotten his hopes up enough to be disappointed with the answer, the man has never been one to let the barest fraction or uncertainty and shaken confidence slip through to anyone from the lowliest boot to senior command. The man doesn’t shrug your update off, but dip of his head dismisses you back to the rear of the tent as he acknowledges his fellow officers. Some of them are identical to him in rank, the respective LT’s of their own Kreiger Platoons, but operationally subordinate to him for the duration of this campaign. Still not people he can afford to snub for a lowly NCO like yourself, Mama Snake or no.
