I don't know about lorerim but in general the lack of skill points is a good thing. The game falls apart if you have enough skill points for everything you want

They seem to be going up one every time I level, and I've kinda figured out that you can't repeat actions over and over to level up skills normally like in vanilla. So I could have 50 in two handed despite never using a two handed weapon, as long as I keep investing points into it...? And I won't be able to access level 75 / 100 perks until I'm like level 50+?

That's why I don't like modpacks, playing them raises too many questions because mods don't explain how things work in the game. Playing skyrim without knowing what mods you have is just painful
