I was just going to pay off varan cause I really don't want to get involved in bandit politics
I was walking in calmly with my weapon holstered but a nearby battle agitated some of the bandit guards and one of them randomly started shooting at me, the rest of them turned hostile when I shot back
I ended up killing all of them by retreating to covered high ground with my G36, but then I couldn't find varan to get the key, and the anomaly in the building killed me while I was looking for him
then after reloading it played out like normal, I paid him off, he betrayed me, I ran cause I had a much worse position

I still don't know where the fuck he went or why that one guard started shooting
