"D-don't push it!" Yumi huffed, cheeks puffing and her face flushing a stronger shade of blue than usual.
And so it went on for nearly half an hour with the two of you going on like that as you both entered the dining room to get some breakfast. You lamented the fact you didn't have any way to make physical contact with Yumi, creating new ways to tease her. But it was only a matter of time at this rate before you made or found some artifacts that helped deal ghosts and the like.
You go to sit at your chair, Yumi floating close to your side. You want to take the chance to relax, but as you wait for Herta and Bertha to bring in the food-
"My gallant Master," Ruby interrupted your thoughts. "Is it true you come from a different universe?"
"Master!" Mel said, slightly agitated. "Please tell Ruby and the others what you told me last night!"
Well that was quick.
"Yeah, I was born in another world." You confirm.
"Thank you Master! See, everyone? I was right!" Mel exclaims as she pumps a fist, then points at Rose. "Ruby, you owe me 20 copper coins!"
Ruby, for her part, merely grumbled a little as she gave a triumphant looking Mel a small bag. The rest of your wives didn't look too surprised.
"You know, I was expecting more of a reaction." You say, recalling how Mel said that most of your wives believed you were from this world.
"No offense guv," Your Cat replied, "But this actually gets less batshit if you think about it. Hell, Herta is the bloomin' Goddess."
"Fair." You gave her that. "But aren't any of you curious about my past?" You hope you weren't gonna regret asking. No matter the answer you didn't intend on telling anyone about your more embarrassing moments.
"Sir!" Gerty turned to you. "Your glorious actions have already spoken for you, and proven you worthy of being a man to honor."
"Indeed." Ayane agreed with an almost motherly understanding. "You have truly proven yourself to be a man of great purpose. But if you wish, I'll happily listen to your past."
"What's the big deal?" Yumi said. "John Doe was reincarnated, right? Doesn't that happen all the time?"
"He was reincarnated from another world." Mel put some emphasis in that. "That hasn't happened before!"
The goddess and the warrioress chose that moment to enter the room, carrying enough trays of simple breakfast for everyone to eat.
"Huh?" Bertha said. "From another world?" She was soon brought up to speed by a few voices.
"Haha!" Herta laughed nervously, glancing at you with a worried face. "That's, uh... Master!" She turned to you, the beginnings of a Divine Beam spell forming in her hands. "What should I say???" She nearly whispered.
"Don't worry, I already told Mel I'm from another world." You said, to Herta's relief.
"Phew," Said the goddess, dispelling her spell. "I was worried you didn't wanna talk about it and word got out somehow, Master."
"Nope. I told Mel about where I came from last night." Well, you didn't talk about the details.
