I think maybe getting close to the Balkans is overall a bad idea, even if Austria seems ok itself being anywhere near Hungary is a recipe for disaster and will lead to way more chaos than we would be able to handle, part of the panhandle would be a very good spot tho, we would be close to pretty friendly countries (most importantly Germany)
