I did sketch! I'm not that experienced though. And what I meant which was painted was the background primarily.

It actually is a bit of a stylistic thing. Since this is fundamentally a moe-derived anime style, so I thought that making the mouth centered when the head is at an angle would feel a little off unless I reworked the drawing to fundamentally feature a less cartoony mouth.
Here's what I've redrawn myself though, I think it looks a little better...
