they still had 8 solid years until Windows 95 started the rot although even then you could make enough money to last you decades if you ran a webdesign company (Linux & Debian existed in 1991/1995) and made websites for 8-10 hours a week... from there on you could branch out into becoming a niche travel agency, mainly using your webdesign money to travel and make friends with businesses, sold it at the height of the dotcom bubble and have enough money to last you a few lifetimes
