“ALL THAT I ASK IS THAT WHEN YOUR BROTHERHOOD LEAVES US, YOU TAKE THE WEAKEST OF OUR STRANGE NEW CLAN WITH YOU. THE YOUNGEST, THOSE WITH THE MOST OF LIFE LEFT AHEAD OF THEM. PERHAPS NONE OF US TRULY DESERVE WHAT IS COMING, BUT THEY DESERVE THAT FATE LEAST OF ALL.”
Your eyebrow twitches as you run the numbers on Breaker’s final request. Even if you keep it to the very youngest, babes and toddlers and the like, that’s still going to perhaps double the number of transports needed get everyone out in one go, or necessitate a second and even riskier trip assuming the first run makes it through unscathed. And then the added strain that an extra hundred or so little mouths to feed will have on the supply situation. What if the LT’s estimate of waiting it out in the Salayun Depression is too optimistic? How much more risk does that add, stealing yet more supplies from your new hiding spot?
“…Blue wouldn’t-“ Even now, when it probably doesn’t matter anymore, you’re careful not to use the LT’s rank.
“I AM SPEAKING TO YOU, SNAKE EYES. NOT YOUR MASTER. NOT STRATEGIST TO TACTICIAN. THIS IS KAVARG’MAGA AT IT’S ESSENCE, A FINAL REQUEST. WARRIOR TO WARRIOR.”

> “-If- we had a plan, and that’s a big fat IF my giant friend, and -if- my boss were to agree to this then I can tell you it won’t be out of the kindness of his cold blue heart. It won’t be charity that’s for voiddamn sure, I’ll need guarantees.” You back Breaker’s plea, but the LT won’t like that you’re basically admitting the Company has something planned. You need to come with him with something solid from Breaker, a promise of non-interference with your exit strategy is a start, but with the right motivation the Auxl leader might agree to use his sparse rebel forces in costly offensives designed to cover your escape. [Daredevil]
> “Voiddamn it Breaker, I told you this girl ain’t the warrior you’re looking for. We don’t have the men, we don’t have the goods, and we don’t have a way out. We’re probably all going to die here anyway. But… fuck it, I’ll ask okay? Maybe the boss can whip out a hail voidmother when scud hits the airlock.” You relay Breaker’s final request to the LT, but you know it’s a doomed proposition. You feign ignorance of a plan already in the works, not pressing Breaker for more. [Firebrand]
>“Right now my people are as fragged as yours, Breaker. I don’t see an out here, I don’t think anyone does if we’re being honest. But if a gap does open up, if my people see a way out of it, I can’t pretend that we’re going to shave those long odds at all by saddling up with a bunch of kids.” You don’t back Breaker’s plea to take the younglings to the LT, and you also don’t acknowledge the existence of a Company plan already in the works. [Xenophobe]
