Do you really believe that the problem is that you're so terminally physically ugly that no woman could ever love you i.e your problems are completely walled off from the reality of what goes on in your head? I don't even know you and I feel confident in saying that's probably not the case. You see lads outside every day who are fatter and uglier than you but who have birds.
So what you're left with is what's going on upstairs, whatever knotted mess is holding you back from going after what you want in life. Ideally you'd have parents or friends to talk it out with but unfortunately not everyone has people around them who are willing to delve there, and even if they are most people still have a mental limit, even among family and friends. These people in your life (if you have any) still have their own problems and hang-ups to deal with and they only have so much mental bandwidth. Is it sad that this is the reality of modern life? Yes.
Enter therapists. They are paid to listen to your insane drivel. It is literally their job to give their focus to whatever mentally ill babble is pouring out of your severely damaged mind you weird fuck. No one else will tolerate it, not your family and not your friends, but the therapist will because they're paid to do so. That's ultimately what it takes to have someone who cares (sad, as I said). But as sad as it is, it provides an outlet that otherwise wouldn't exist for most people. There you have a space where you can vocalise your thoughts, a sounding board, a person on the other side with whom to explore them. You might say well I can just talk aloud to myself at home in my bedroom, but it's not the same. Having another person there who listens to you can responds does actually matter.
All that said, people aren't lying when they say the therapist matters as much as the therapy itself. As in, you'll need to get along with the person and respect them. If they're shite you'll need to look for a new one.
