Nothing wrong with wanting or living a simple life, although most people underestimate how difficult that is.
I get triggered when people talk about monasticism as if it's a robe you can just put on and then take off. It's an incredibly serious choice and they won't even look at someone serious unless the person demonstrates serious commitment.
You can go and just LIVE with monks for various lengths of time as an outsider and follow all of their daily life, but that's not the same as becoming a monk.
