IIRC the new mayor was asked during election if he's going to fly to Israel to kiss the ring after winning (apparently this is a tradition for NYC mayors for some reason) and he declined. Naturally this is another Hall of Cost type incident.

They're not "obsessed with the rule", they're just chasing the high of moral indignation and sanctimonious posturing. Tracking down an actual pedo, that is an adult who preys on prepubescent children, requires a good deal of skill, knowledge, patience, cunning etc. Meanwhile one can find a dozen 2X+17 year old couples just by walking into any school campus.
