>Decoy
You make a quick jog to Squid's lab. You don't want to ask her for a whole suite of tools like last time, but an idea is already forming in your mind. You knock on the door and are let in by ToyAgumon as usual.
"Good morning! She's just through here."
As you walk in, you see Squid setting up multiple screens at once. She's not alone today. A few members of the jamming team are with her, all facing different parts of the room. They all turn to face you when you enter.
"Marnie! You need something? We're just setting up for support later."
"Yeah! It'll be quick. I was wondering if you have any hologram tech. I was thinking decoys would be useful."
"I do have some, but I don't know how handy they'll be. Digimon and bots aren't dumb enough to just fall for holograms for long, y'know?"
"..."
"Yeah, I know. But I was thinking that it might be different when we're lower-form data. Inside the network, we have to be converted into information, right? Or at least, more basic information. Doesn't that mean that some of our .apps and tools will exist on the same level as us?"
Her jaw drops open as she considers it. Squid puts down her task and heads to a shelf, where she opens up its directory and searches it for the right tool. She returns with a handful of icons, most in the shape of silhouettes. Others are corrupted clusters of artifacts and colors.
"Good idea! I really want to test this theory out. Here, apart from the decoys, there's some junk I was using to prototype the zipbombs."
"Oh, not again!"
"Don't worry, it's barely an explosion! If your theory is right, it'll just be a big puff of junk data. That might come in handy!"
You look at your Linker and check the time. Fifteen minutes are almost up.
"Thanks, Squid. See you on the line!"
"Good luck!"
"Come back safe, y'hear?"
You scurry off to rejoin the group, and arrive right on time. You all march upstairs without further fanfare.
