They were more socially conscious actually. It’s just that it wasn’t surface level virtue signaling and pandering. They had entire stories about Batman monologuing against other billionaires or helping poor minorities. Now they just insert mean spirited generalizations. Either way, I still hate the idiots who used this or anti trans stuff as their #1 issue.
