While that's possible, it doesn't really fit with the scene. EVE/Lily seem to share in the audience's perspective as they're both surprised at the revelation of the Colony, like the player would be. So it seems like it would be something more significant than that. It would be silly if that whole scene was just "Wow, I never saw the Colony from this angle before".
Also, there was this little pre-launch comic that gives us the only idea what it may have been like on the Colony and the sky seems pretty clear up there.

Yea, I was wondering about that. Where could MS have gotten the material to make that? I thought she might of used the moon, but the moon seems to appear in the Making Memories ending. Although it is REALLY bright. Too bright for even a full moon.
The only thing I could think of is MS has the ability of instrastellar travel and has been mining the asteroid belt, but that brings up even more questions. Is she on Mars? Is she on Venus? Is she anywhere else in Sol?
