I wonder why did Gi Hun never try to negogiate with the group? That's the first thought that came into my mind when the game rules were explained.
He can easily give them his part of the money, same goes for the child's money. Hell, he could even give them part of his old stack as well to sweeten the deal. Unlike them, he doesn't have money problems anymore.
Junkie, 456, baby die - money split between 6 people
Gi-Hun and baby survive, give up their money, 2 two people aside from Junkie die (probably lunch box and the other guy who fell) - money split between 6/4 people, which means 50% more for everybody. Even if it was just Gi-Hun's part, it would have been at least 20% more profitable for everybody else.
There's no logical reason why the greedy bastards wouldn't go for the more lucrative deal.
