I dont fall into those categories. I was an art student, then was later employed as an engineer, then as a business manager. I learned their language, culture, and was a skilled guest who not only contributed to Japanese cultural preservation and historiography, but also contributed greatly to their tax base.

The sad thing is that the amount of hoops for people like me was high, even then, but nah instead Japan would rather import unskilled drains who don't understand the language, culture, dont integrate, dont pay taxes even tho they use public services, shit up even rural areas. Tourists at least bring revenue, but 50MM+/yr or whatever it is now is ridiculous.
