"Nehushtan," is a biblical narrative found in the Book of Numbers (21:4-9). It recounts how, during the Israelites' desert wanderings, God sent venomous snakes to punish them for complaining about their hardships. To provide a means of healing, God instructed Moses to create a bronze serpent and mount it on a pole. Those who were bitten and looked at the bronze serpent were healed.
